Dancing with the Wolves - Magic and Joy in Dance

Cornelia Freise

July 11 - 17, 2008

The old wolf-crone collects the scattered bones of dead wolfs in remote areas and puts them together with loving attention until all bones of the skeleton find themselves in their right place again. Then she sings above the bones for a long time till the flesh returns, then the skin and the fur. Suddenly the wolf jumps up and runs to the horizon where it transforms into a laughing woman.

This is the old story. While dancing we want to look for the old bones, collect them and put them together until we help resurrect the female wolf within us. In this process we are at the same time the female wolf and the scattered bones in the desert.

As we dance, our aim is to find our primal instincts, to experience them and come into contact with our "wild soul". We will open ourselves to her and her free original expression. We can discover our wild nature through dance and feel the empowerment through our bodyÕs deep feminine wisdom. It is important to accept our radiant expression and our immense power as our assignment. This includes the physical awareness of our soulÕs yearning for freedom and the acknowledgment of our deep longing for the Divine.

Dance is essentially a form of prayer, free of any creed. It connects us with our spiritual dimension. In dance we can experience alignment and freedom at the same time. It is always moving, never standing still and thus constantly changing, very much in tandem with all that is.

Cornelia Freise works with elements of biodanza-dance therapy, sacred circle dances, dreams and meditations for the heart. No prior dance training is necessary.

Cornelia Freise, born in 1957, lives in Bremen, Germany. As a lawyer she worked on several scientific projects. Then the direction of her life changed. For 22 years now she has worked with group in the field of circle dances and dance therapy. She trained in Biodanza - Dance of Life, a technique developed by Rolando Toro from Chile. Since 1992 she has worked exclusively with dance. In 1996 she founded "The Dancing Wild Sow -"Institute for Transformation through Dance, Meditative Dancing and Dance TherapyÓ in Bremen which offers ÒDancing from the Space of the HeartÒ a 2-year dance education for people from different professional backgrounds. Since 2002 she conducts workshops in Singapore, California and Estonia. Since 1985 she has followed the mystical path of the golden Sufis which inspires and carries her work.

The first and the last day are for arrival and departure; we will begin to dance Saturday morning and end on Wednesday evening.

Fee: Euro 612 (includes the workshop fee, meals, housing and transfer from the airport to Polli Talu Arts Center; international travel is not included)

Every participant is herself responsible for what happens during the dance sessions.

Anima Mundi
Ulrike Pahl (Germany)

July 19, 2008
11:00

As every human being has a physical body and a soul so the world is a living organism with a soul. Anima Mundi is the soul of the world.

At present the soul of the world is asleep because we have denied our connection to it for centuries. We see the world only as dead matter and exploit it for our purposes. This one sided view of the world has taken the colour out of life. The divine music that lives inside creation has died. Memories of the wonder of magic only exist in the fairytales and myths of humanity. The light of the soul of the world that is woven into all matter is not visible for us any longer.

Each of us carries a spark of her light inside. When we become conscious of this light and give it back to Anima Mundi then the soul of the world can awaken anew and magic will return to life...

In the seminar we try to establish a connection to Anima Mundi, the soul of the world.

This happens in part through a specific kind of shamanic singing which opens a direct access to Anima Mundi. Through singing the light in us is being aligned with the light of Anima Mundi. In this way we have the possibility to enter a dialogue with the being that is Anima Mundi.

The other part is an archetypal journey. Through imagination a connection between the inner world of archetypes and our outer world can be created in a different way. We connect very consciously with the soul of the world and witness the process of its awakening.

The dialogue between the soul of the world and each participant of the seminar is individual and unique. In sharing our experiences we create a bigger, more comprehensive picture.

Ulrike Pahl has been leading workshops in breath work and voice training for many years and has been giving private classes in Integrative Imagination. Since 2005 she has been giving seminars on Anima Mundi throughout Europe. She was trained in a specific kind of shamanic singing which creates an inner connection to the soul of the world. Her training in Integrative Imagination and shamanic journeying combined with the work of the archetypes are the basis for a special form of archetypal journeying with groups. In 2001 she met her teacher Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee a Sufi Sheikh of the Naqshbandiyya Mujaddidiyya Lineage. The seminars are embedded in this spiritual tradition (www.workingwithoneness.org)

We begin at 11.00 and end at 18.00 with dinner

Cost: Euro 117 (includes seminar fee, lunch, dinner, overnight stay and breakfast)
